One Piece is probably one of the best mangas ever written and the greatest anime created. It follows the life of Monkey D. Luffy, the main protagonist in the story. He aims to become the Pirate King.
He is set to discover the hidden treasure called One Piece. It has a ton of characters and the world-building is insane. The creator of One Piece, Eiichiro Oda is a master of foreshadowing.

Devil Fruits come from the Illusion Tree
Inspired by the Hindu sacred tree named Kalpavriksha. This divine tree has wish-fulfilling powers. It has been referred to in many sacred texts.
Vegapunk has a theory of his own, He says that devil fruits come from the desires and wishes of people. Maybe these two things do tie together.
Luffy based on Hindu God- Hanuman
Luffy is heavily inspired by a Hindu God named Hanuman, Both have a lot of similarities. Hanuman’s father in the sacred texts is a Wind God named “Vayu”. Luffy’s father also has wind manipulation powers.
Hanuman Ji can stretch large parts of his body and his body is immune to electricity. And many other similar traits.
Blackbeard based on Demon Trisara
Another theory related to Hinduism. Blackbeard is similar to a demon that Hanuman ji fought named Trisara. Blackbeard’s pirate symbol is three skulls and similarly, Blackbeard has three heads.
The Treasure of One Piece
It is shown in the anime and the manga when Roger and his crew discover One Piece. They all burst laughing.
I believe that the final treasure is a tale of laughs.
Hollow Earth?
Many claims that the Laugh tale is located inside the earth. It has been subtly hinted and some symbolism that supports this theory is evident.
No Devil Fruit users Allowed
Two of the people on Roger’s ship got really sick when the ship was approaching Laugh Tale. The only people who didn’t make it to the Laugh-tale were Buggy and Toki. The only two confirmed people with devil fruit powers on the ship.
It is possible that Devil fruit users can’t go to the Laugh-tale.
Immortal Elders
The five elders are immortal. They looked exactly the same 20 years ago in Ohara’s flashback. They have gained immortality by eating the “Ope Ope No Mi” fruit.
Red Line will be Destroyed
One piece is an object that will allow Luffy to destroy the Red line. All of the crew’s dreams have the Red line as the barrier.
Destroying it will make Luffy the freest man and he can travel a lot. Nami can complete her map and many others have similar interests.
Blackbeard has three personalities
Black beard has multiple personality syndrome. He has a childish side and a calm and mature vibe. Precisely he has three sides to him.
His character design is filled with references to the number three here and there.
Shanks is the son of Rocks
It is known that Shanks was a member of Roger’s crew as a child. But, the way he joined the crew is never made clear. It is believable that Roger might have taken care of him after Rocks was defeated.
Crocodile was originally a woman
Ivankov intentionally called Crocodile, Croco boy which might subtly imply that he wasn’t always a boy. Also during Roger’s execution, Crocodile is the only character whose face wasn’t shown.
Reason for Sanji’s Powers
Sanji’s father was working with a doctor and the Queen on weapon development. There he learned about the Lineage factor. This might have been used to modify Sanji’s genes and grant him powers.
Dragon can manipulate wind
Dragon is always accompanied by a strong gush of wind. Once Luffy was saved by strong wind and lightning and wind before being executed.
Shanks is the Celestial Dragon
Shanks is a pirate with a huge amount of bounty on his name. He went to the five elders without any obstruction. He stopped many big names just by talking despite merely being a pirate.

In a conversation between them in Chapter 712 of the manga. Fujitora calls Akainu “Saka-san”. In one of the Data books of One piece, both are written to know each other very well.

It is an interesting symbolism, many characters in the show have some marking on their left eye.
Also, if you notice Jaya has a missing left eye. It is believed that that missing piece is the Laugh tale.
Luffy’s Mother: Crocodile
I know crazy this sounds. I have already talked about Crocodile changing his gender. In a lot of situations, Crocodile has saved Luffy.
Immortal Luffy
Law has the power to manipulate all the bodies in a certain area. It is believed that he can also grant immortality.
Law believes in the cause of Luffy and admires him. It is possible that he might give his life to save Luffy.
Fight between Shanks and Luffy
Many believe after Luffy reunites with his mentor. He will challenge him to duel to prove his worth. Fulfilling his promise to gather a stronger crew than Shanks and surpass him.
Law is an Undercover Marine
It is taken that, Law is a member of the secret organization SWORD. This organization has at least one member of it going undercover.
Law is also somehow related to Drake. Also, Law’s childhood hero was an undercover marine.
The Three Devil Fruit Eater
People claim that Blackbeard will eat a third devil fruit. He already possesses the powers of two devil fruits. Through an unknown method, the Black beard has also taken the powers of the Whitebeard.
Luffy’s other Dream
Luffy has one other dream than becoming the Pirate King. The dream is similar to King Roger’s dream. Theorists believe it to be throwing the biggest party of all.
Buggy -The Pirate King
Though it has some backlash and people don’t want to believe it. Some theorists have come up with, Buggy being the Pirate King. Funny right, but you never know.
He has already become the Warlord of the Sea. If he keeps growing in the ranks, the Pirate King is not far.
Rocks Crew
After the Davy Back Fight, one of the most fearsome crews of Rocks is formed. The crew boasts of three future emperors. It does has some truth to it, so this is an honorable mention.
Who had the Gomu-Gomu powers?
The previous inheritor of the Gomu- Gomu no Mi powers was Portgas D Rouge. She is Luffy’s brother Ace’s mother.
She was pregnant with Ace for over two years. She had to keep the child safe in her womb since the government was looking for Roger’s offspring.
Dream Ship Combat
Cyborg Franky built the Thousand Sunny after Going Merry was severely damaged. It is revealed that before he built this ship, Franky had hidden the blueprints of Ancient Weapon Pluton.
This ship was an all-powerful warship. The warship was so strong that he burned the blueprints so the government could not get them.
Franky might have included some of its ideas in the Thousand Sunny ship. I feel a grand ship battle is coming near.
Luffy will Die
It has been hinted at quite a number of times. He wants to become the Pirate King. We will remember what happened to the last Pirate King. His death might start a new Pirate era.
Luffy has been shortening his life span. When he uses his Gear 2, it was hinted that such techniques shorten the user’s life overall.
In a fight against Kaidou, after using Gear 5 for a while. Luffy appears to transform into an elderly man temporarily.
One Piece on Moon
On one of the cover pages of the manga, Enel is shown fulfilling his dream of traveling to the moon. It is shown that the palace is already inhabited. There are a lot of pirate ships already there.
There also appeared the ruins of a civilization. Also, the moon is shown as important in the series.
Luffy’s final Bounty number
Predicting precisely, the bounty against him would be 5.656.000,000. The first reason is that it would put Luffy’s bounty above Roger’s bounty.
Secondly, the number 5,6,5,6 in Japanese translates to Gomu-Gomu. This theory makes a lot of sense.
Rayleigh is Mihawk’s Father
They have a lot of similarities between them. Both use swords, and Mihawk is the strongest swordsman. In his time, Rayleigh must have been the strongest of his time too.
They both dress in a similar way.
If Rayleigh ever had to have a child, it would be with Shakuyaku. Shakuyaku also has a lot of similarities with Rayleigh. The most obvious one is their spiky hair.
